  35. About the Author

All four letters caught fire in front of them. The words disappearing. Promises made. Promises kept.

On this day, I, Olivia Arias…

I, Rebecca Lindt…

I, Taryn Landry…

I, Kincaid Breslin…

Promise the Class of 2005 that I will not waste the second chance that I have been given, that I will honor all the people we lost by living my life to the fullest…

That we will not give in. That we will not give up. That we will love.

Taryn lifted her cup of eggnog. “To the next chapter.”

They all raised their glasses. “To us.”

The letters turned to ash, and they drank and laughed and told stories until the first rays of sunlight peeked over the horizon. When they couldn’t keep their eyes open any longer, one by one, they rose from their chairs, went inside to the warmth of the house, and crawled into bed with the men they loved.

Happy.

Strong.

Survivors.

THE END

Acknowledgments

First, thank you, dear reader, for going on this journey with me. I hope you’ve enjoyed spending time with these characters as much as I’ve enjoyed writing about them. This series has been a special one to me, and I’ll be sad to leave these four ladies behind, but I hope you’ll join me on the next bookish adventure. There are more happily-ever-afters to come.

To Donnie and Marsh, my personal rock stars, who keep me from taking life or myself too seriously. You make me laugh, you play awesome music for me, and you both make me proud. I couldn’t ask for a better family.

To my parents, who I’d want to hang out with even if we weren’t related.

To Dawn, who I could ask “What would Kincaid do?” in a scene, and she would always know. I’m glad I have my own Kincaid in my life. ;)

To Genny, for your dry sense of humor and your no-nonsense advice.

To my agent, Sara Megibow, who has championed my books for a decade now. Thanks for always being in my corner.

To my editor, Cat Clyne, who helps makes these books the best they can be. Thank you not just for your expertise but for your enthusiastic comments in the edits. They never fail to make me grin.

And finally, to the whole Sourcebooks team, thank you for being fully behind these books. This series wouldn’t be what it is without y’all.

About the Author

Roni wrote her first romance novel at age fifteen, when she discovered writing about boys was way easier than actually talking to them. Since then, her flirting skills haven’t improved, but she likes to think her storytelling ability has.

She holds a master’s degree in social work and spent years as a mental health counselor, but now she writes full-time from her cozy office in Dallas, Texas, where she puts her characters on the therapy couch instead.

She is a two-time RITA Award winner and a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author.
