- About the Author
Liv looked down at the little sign and then peeked into the room. Kincaid had decorated the space with mostly white decor and just a hint of green. She hadn’t wanted to distract from the real showpiece of the room. Liv’s gorgeous photography hung on every wall. Liv gasped. “Oh my God.”
“Anytime someone rents the room, they’ll have the option to buy your art,” Kincaid said. “And a portion of the revenue from renting the room will go to the Long Acre fund in your name. Plus, it’s free for you and Finn whenever.”
Liv’s eyes widened. “Oh, chica.”
Kincaid left Liv to take a closer look at the room and continued down the hall. She gave Rebecca her plaque and opened another door. “This is the Rebecca.” She had done this room in warm and cozy colors and added a bookshelf filled with Rebecca’s favorite books. “A portion of the proceeds from this room will go to you and Wes’s teen program. And of course, the room is always open to the two of you and the kiddo for free. I’ll even let Knight come over if he promises not to chase my goats.”
Wes laughed. “No promises on that last one.”
“And if you need someone to watch baby Simone while you’re here, you know Aunt Kincaid is down for the job,” she added.
Wes got to Kincaid before Rebecca and gave her a bear hug. “You’re amazing.”
Rebecca joined in on the hug. “What he said.”
Finally, Kincaid led Taryn down to her room. She opened the door to a room done in cool blues and grays. An acoustic guitar sat on a stand in the corner. “And the Taryn,” Kincaid said. “A portion of the proceeds from this room goes to your school program. And of course, I’m stealing baby Nathaniel when you visit because I won’t be able to resist his cuteness while he’s in the same house.”
“Oh wow,” Taryn breathed. “I love it so much. And I think my kid loves you more than me, so he’ll be totally down with that plan.”
Kincaid snorted. That was definitely not true. Taryn and Shaw’s son was the happiest and most energetic baby she’d ever been around. And when he looked at his momma, it was like he believed angels existed.
Kincaid looked down the hall at her friends standing in front of each of their respective rooms. They’d all turned toward her, their husbands at their sides.
“So,” she said, smiling, “all this to say, you are my family. There is always room here for you. You are my home. Now you can go and christen your rooms.”
Her friends gathered around her, hugging her and telling her they loved her. As soon as they released each other, the excited chatter started up again, and the women dragged their guys into their rooms to explore.
Kincaid took a deep breath, feeling high on friendship love.
A delighted laugh came from down the hall in Liv’s room, doors shut, and the squeak of a bed sounded from another. Ash turned to her. “I think they like them.”
