KHADIM: I didn’t steal them.

DANIELSON: You know, I don’t believe a single word out of your mouth anymore, you know that? There is zero trust here.

KHADIM: So what are you gonna do? Suspend me for selling clothes out of my locker?

(throws a tie on the desk) Here, Dr. Danielson. This is Hugo Boss. Take it. On the house.

DANIELSON: I don’t need your tie.

KHADIM: Yes you do.

DANIELSON: You think I’m stupid?

KHADIM: I think you need to re-assess your wardrobe.

DANIELSON: This isn’t just about clothes.

I’m not as stupid as you think I am, Khadim.

I didn’t just open your locker.

I opened all the other lockers down there in the basement. All those supposedly empty, unoccupied basement lockers that we never assign to anyone anymore.

You can imagine my surprise.

Can you imagine my surprise?

KHADIM: No.

DANIELSON: Try.

KHADIM: No.

DANIELSON: We haven’t assigned those basement lockers to students for years. When you transferred here at the end of September, they were all empty. And now . . . ?

KHADIM: Now what?

DANIELSON: You tell me.

KHADIM: I don’t know.

DANIELSON: You’re lying.

KHADIM: Just because you don’t believe me doesn’t mean I’m lying.

DANIELSON: I can read you, Khadim, I’ve already seen you lie to my face today, I can see it again.

KHADIM: Yeah, I know how you work.

DANIELSON: How I work.

KHADIM: I’m not scared of you, man. So forget it. I have one locker. It had some high-end retail in there. Am I in trouble?

DANIELSON: The other lockers are yours too. How’d you get the combinations?

KHADIM: I didn’t. Someone else must have.

Danielson goes to a file cabinet. Behind them, he pulls out some white PVC piping.

DANIELSON: PVC. In locker Zero-Zero-Six. Just stacked to the gills with it. Holes punched in them. What’s this for?

KHADIM: I don’t know, it’s not mine.

DANIELSON: Or the other locker, filled with bottled water. You have a little convenience store down there?

KHADIM: Convenience store?

DANIELSON: Yeah.

KHADIM: I sell clothing. How many convenience stores do you know that sell Armani? I guess since I’m an Arab, it’s going to be a convenience store.

DANIELSON: That’s not / why I . . .

KHADIM: / Racist.

DANIELSON: Don’t you call me that.

KHADIM: Why, does that offend you?

DANIELSON: Aristopet Sulphadim.

Danielson gets another box. He takes out several large bottles of pills.

DANIELSON: Aristopet Sulphadim?

I mean, I didn’t know what the hell that was.

I had to come back up here and Google it.

What was it?

(reads a piece of paper) Right. Broad-spectrum antibiotic for the treatment of diarrhea in ornamental caged birds.

(looks back at Khadim) Khadim . . .

Excuse my language . . .

But what the fuck?

Khadim smiles and shrugs.

DANIELSON: Oh, you think this is funny?

KHADIM: Kind of.

DANIELSON: Is this something the kids use? Is that it?

KHADIM: Yeah. We do bird drugs.

(he flaps his hands like wings) It gets us high.
