“Well, I think you make good armor, if it means anything,” Lucas responded, looking over the stats on a set as he brought it up to the counter. It was actually rather incredible. The chainmail would mitigate 15 points of damage from any incoming attack to a minimum of 1, and the pants, gauntlet, and boots would all mitigate 5 to a minimum of 1. Those stats were definitely better than what he had seen in Kegan’s town, which usually offered 3 damage reduction and 1 damage reduction respectively.
“It means you think I make good armor,” Willmarth said, “and that’s it. Been doing something for forty years . . . If I wasn’t good at it, that’d be saying something a lot more than if I was the best at it, upstart. Now, let me take a look at this . . .” Willmarth grabbed the helmet from Lucas and turned it upside down. “Ah, here we go. Little thin, aren’t we? You could use some more meat on your bones if this armor fits. How ‘bout I give you a doctor’s notice to go with the armor? Two pounds of bacon and three pints of beer a day until you need to come back for a bigger suit.”
“I’ll be sure to do that,” Lucas said, hoping that this would be the end of the errands he had to run.
Quest Completed: Dress to Impress.
As long as you are wearing the Imperium Soldier’s standard attire, you will not suffer diplomatic or reputation penalties when talking to Dray von Maidbanger or other members of the Imperium.
Warning: A member of the Imperium is not unique or special to non-Human races, but a soldier of the Imperium is. Certain unfavorable situations may arise from interacting with non-Humans while wearing the Imperium Soldier’s attire.
So, I need to make sure to take this off before turning in Gunter’s quest. Lucas made a mental note as he read the warning and began changing outfits.
“Boy, I don’t know what you’ve heard of blacksmiths, but we aren’t that way. If you’re gonna strip down and give people a show, go do it in a tavern where you might at least get one of those desperate ladies that settle for skin and bones to buy you a beer,” Willmarth grumbled, once more disappearing beneath the counter. The man hadn’t vanished for more than two seconds before Lucas heard several more clicks and then another small explosion, slightly louder than the one that had greeted him when he had first entered the place.
