The Web of Deceit kept Lucas hidden as he snuck through the castle, slowly rounding corners and waiting quietly while guards passed by. Lucas remembered the way perfectly. The art and erotic sculptures were tasteless decorations he couldn’t ever forget.

He was really grateful to Linnaeus, his personal castle infiltration assistant, who had thrown him in through a window with ease. Just like before, Linnaeus had reminded him that he was contracted for the sole purpose of helping out Lucas’s dungeon and not anyone else's and then failed to offer any further aid.

There it is, Lucas thought, seeing the throne room directly ahead. Lucas was happy to see that there were no guards stationed there since he very much doubted that he would be able to tackle them alone, and there was no way for him to sneak through the doors undetected, invisible or not.

Nick, Bonnie and the rest of the group had lured away most of the guards by using their mounts. The result was that most of the keep’s defenses were busy chasing them in circles, and while they were all distracted, Lucas had been able to make his way straight to Dray’s chamber. Now that he had arrived, however, he was somewhat anxious—mostly because the door was ajar.

Lucas approached and tried to listen for a second to what was happening in the other room.

“Lagrand, this is freaking stupid. Will you just stop already?” Liu practically shouted.

“Stop? Why the hell should I stop? This whole island is mine, and so is everyone on it,” Dray shouted in return.

“The island isn’t yours; it’s the players’. You’re just supposed to be moderating it, making sure the quests go smoothly. What you’re doing right now is a breach of conduct, and if you don’t stop, I’m going to have to report you!” Liu yelled.

Lucas slowly edged the door open just enough for him to sneak in, and the first thing he saw once he was inside was Dray von Maidbanger, the man who had been a pain in his backside. He was seated at a table across from Liu, openly leering at the woman. Most surprisingly, Liu’s avatar no longer looked like her sister, Yu Hua. Instead, she looked just as she did in real life, scar and all.

“Report me? To who? Your boss? That’s me! I’m that boss! I’m the only one you report to, so what are you going to do?”

“I’m going to go over your head, you freaking creep,” Liu shouted.
