‘So, let us take for example that an individual sits for meditation attached to the illusionary state of him or her being separate from The One. Now even if the person were to try and go within, focus on breathing, begin to meditate or pray or chant The Name, till the sense of duality persists, Oneness will not take place because your attention will always be external since your search is external. I am searching for The One to enter me or I have the picture of my Goddess, God and Guru in mind, thus, though my eyes are shut, am breathing, chanting, praying or meditating, my true being is outside myself, external, either with my Guru’s face or statue in mind or waiting for the Energy to flow within me. So, in reality, I am not within but am actually outside. I am waiting for the Energy to fill me up. I am hoping for some sign. I am imagining that I am with my Master or His or Her Energy is entering me, but all this while in reality, I am outside, external. Then slowly I begin to feel the Energy within me and surging within me and I experience various things, see various things and then I have to get up. For how long can these sensations abide within me as subconsciously I believe that I have, through prayers, chanting, and meditation, got these sensations or Energy within me, but as I get out of this state, life slowly takes over and I believe these sensations and Energy have again left me, till the next time I sit for meditation again.’
