  42. Want More Maya Hughes?

Her scent enveloped me, and my blood went rushing straight from my head to my dick. Now wasn’t the time. I cranked it to cold and gritted my teeth until the inopportune erection went away.

Standing in the doorway to her bedroom with a towel wrapped around my waist, I was acutely aware of how bare I was. Locker rooms had desensitized me to nudity in general, but she had never been in a locker room with me before.

She spotted me and stood, her own towel wrapped around her chest and tucked in neatly over her left breast. The swell and curve of her breasts kept the terrycloth around her, and I’d never been more pissed at a set of breasts in my life.

“I got you some clothes.” She patted the small stack on the edge of her bed. “They were my dad’s, but they should fit you.” Her bottom lip disappeared into her mouth as she nibbled it.

“I...I’ll be right back.” She gathered up the clothes on top of her dresser and jerked her thumb over her shoulder and rushed from the room. The bathroom door closed.

I stared down at the shirt and shorts she’d left for me. Her dad’s clothes. From the way she talked about him, it meant a lot that she’d entrust these to me, even if it was only for a few hours.

Putting them on, I folded the towel and sat on the edge of her bed with my forearms resting on my thighs. The t-shirt was tight, but the shorts had fit.

Everything here—even me—smelled like her. I must’ve grabbed her shower soap.

Standing, I wandered her room again. The Bay expedition continued.

The guitar case sat propped up against the wall beside the closet. Clothes were shoved in the hamper by the door. It was lived in, but not messy. She made her bed. Her backpack hung on the back of her desk chair. A basket of clothes lay beside her door.

There were notebooks and textbooks on her desk. Which classes was she in that we weren’t in together? I lifted a notebook without a subject written neatly on the front.

A hand slammed down on it, knocking it back down to the desk. “Don’t look at that.”

Bay gathered up the notebook and shoved it into her top desk drawer.

“Sorry.” She bent to pick up her abandoned towel and ran it over her hair.

“No, it’s what I get for snooping. I wasn’t thinking. I’m sorry.” What was wrong with me?

She peeked at me. “It was an overreaction. I’ve never shown anyone this before.”

“You don’t have to show me if you don’t want to.” I turned away from the desk, giving her space. I sat on the edge of the bed farthest from the desk trying to think of something witty or at least not completely stupid to say, but the memory bank was filled with cobwebs. Right about now would be a great time for me to take my sorry ass home.
