If this whole thing fell apart or if the news media suddenly showed up, they wouldn't get their bonus, and they’d have a terrible reputation for any future celebrity guests who might want to come.
"Where are they? You know if they're driving in limousines, everybody in town's going to know something’s happening," Mia said.
Evie laughed. "Oh, Aunt Mia, they aren't going to drive here in limousines. They'll probably be in SUVs or something like that."
"I'm sure this isn't their first rodeo," Cooper said. "I just hope they like everything I built out there.”
Kate smiled. "I'm sure they're going to love it. That gazebo is beyond anything I could've imagined. The detail work you did on that is amazing."
As Mia watched her sister and Cooper smile at each other, she felt happy for them. Over the last few weeks of working together, she and Cooper had forged a friendship, and she had forgiven him for all of those times he made her feel bad in high school.
Although he hadn't really opened up about whatever happened at his home when he was a kid to make him act that way, she didn't need to know. She knew he was sorry, and on top of that he had managed to build a beautiful wedding venue for free and save her niece. She figured they were even.
"Is that them? I think I see a car," Kate said, looking up the road.
Several vehicles pulled in one right after another. Mia felt like she was going to throw up. Not only was she was about to meet one of the biggest celebrities in the world, but she had to entertain and feed an entire wedding party full of other celebrities and their friends and family. This was going to be a very memorable day.
A black SUV stopped right in front of the porch, and a woman stepped out wearing a business suit.
"Are you Mia?" she asked.
“Yes, that’s me.”
"Hi. I am Nancy Goddard, Lana's personal assistant. Nice to meet you."
“Nice to meet you too.”
“Are you ready for us?"
"Of course. Please come inside. We can show all of you to your rooms and show Lana the special space we have created for her to get ready for her big day!"
As everyone got out of the vehicles and started heading inside, Kate and Mia waited for Lana to step out of the vehicle. A few moments later, she did.
She was even more beautiful in person. She smiled, looking radiant as any bride would on her wedding day.
"Hi! Thank you so much for allowing me to have my wedding here. I have such fond memories of visiting when I was a kid," Lana said, shaking everyone's hand.
"It's an honor to have you here. I don't remember when you stayed, but I was probably pretty young myself," Mia said, smiling.
