She had sort of collapsed into me, so it was hard to see her face, but I leaned down to plant a kiss at the edge of her eye, where a few locks of hair had fallen forward and gotten stuck on her mascara. I moved another finger inside, and then another. She moaned, one of her hands tickling up my side, underneath this soft, soft sweater. This sweater she had made for me.
I didn’t quite understand what I had done to deserve any of this. But maybe now wasn’t the time to overthink it. Maybe now was the time to do what I always tried to do at Moonie’s: let myself go. Feel grateful as hell to be alive in this moment, right now.
And let everything else fall away.
Lily was leaning back, mumbling something incoherent: “I need—I can’t—”
She grabbed my plaid linen shirt, which was crumpled on the desk behind me. The shirt that I knew was ill-fitting and too wrinkled, that I really wished I had not worn today. Not that I could have anticipated Lily showing up at my office door.
But then she shoved her face in the shirt to muffle her cry as she tightened around my fingers and came, the same cry I remembered so well from that Saturday night, somehow feral and pretty all at once. And on second thought, maybe I would frame the shirt.
She dropped it to the ground as she came down, leaning even more heavily into me. I extricated my hand and used my other to draw small circles on her back. We were quiet a moment. Absently, I rubbed my thumb against my forefinger with my free hand, feeling her slickness that was still there, taking the time to really absorb it, along with the general warmth of her body against mine, the slight scratchiness of her sweater on the fingertips of my left hand. So many pleasurable sensations, so many different textures. So many ways to be in a body.
A bit shakily, Lily pushed herself away from me. Silently, she repeated the same actions to me that I had done to her.
She lifted up my skirt, rumpling it up on my stomach. She gave me one small squeeze through my leggings, and I was so riled up, that was honestly almost enough to send me over the edge. But I got a hold of myself—or rather, Lily made quick work of pulling down my leggings and briefs and taking hold of me.
For one brief, glorious moment. And then she was gone.
