“I like your big ass.” He did that lip biting thing and though his hands were at his sides, I could feel the ghost of his fingers on my hips. “Actually.” He cocked his head, like he was reconsidering his answer, then tipped my chin up, which gave me the full effect of those gray eyes. “Scratch that.”

Scratch what, motherfucker? I almost screamed.

“I don’t just like it. I’m obsessed with it.”

“Hey,” I protested even as I pressed said ass to his groin on instinct. He hissed but didn’t move. God, he was hard and huge, and I had to stop reminding myself I’d lost count of the amount of months that had passed since I’d had an orgasm induced by another sentient being. The chances of this situation devolving into poor sexual choices were increasing by the second, and instead of running to my room, I rolled my hips again.

He pushed up in response and the friction was enough to have me soaking my underwear. He looked up at me with an expression that said your move. And holy shit did I have some moves in mind. Like sliding all the way down his body and finally confirming for myself what he was hiding under his sweats. Or perhaps I’d pull of my sweater and see what he’d do. So many delicious possibilities...but I chickened out.

“Since you seem to have turned into a completely different person, I guess you’ll be delighted to hear Julia is planning a whole pool party here next week.” He didn’t call me on killing the vibe, just looked at me like this was chess and he didn’t want to rush his next play.

“That sounds great. I love pool parties.”

I scoffed, because the alternative was shaking him and screaming Who are you and what have you done to Theo Ganas? in his face.

“This isn’t weird for you?” I asked, pointing at the spot where our bodies were pressed together. Because I was practically levitating off the couch while he was breathing nice and easy under me.

“Not at all.” He just lifted a shoulder, like all of this was just super normal. “I worked out a protocol to manage what your ass does to me years ago.”

“You have a what, now?” Another shrug.

“About five minutes after you showed up for your job interview I decided you would be my assistant.” That flutter in my belly had to be the birria tacos I’d inhaled. “And for that to not end in a lawsuit I needed to devise a way not to stare at your ass all the time.” The matter-of-fact way he relayed that made my head spin, not because of what he said—because by this point I was starting to believe he might be a little bit into me, even if it was just lust—but how he said it.
