- ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
- BIBLIOGRAPHY
Thank you, as ever, to my marvellous family and friends who are lovely and supportive. Thanks for facing my books frontwards in bookshops (even though we’re not supposed to!), thanks for turning up to my events, listening to me when I’m terrified, listening to me when I’m elated. Thanks to my fellow authors, booksellers, book festival organisers, reviewers, magazine editors and librarians who continue to generously champion my work.
Of course, I’d like to thank my readers; without you it wouldn’t make any sense, would it?
Finally, thank you, Jimmy and Conrad. You are my inspiration. You provide meaning and douse me with encouragement and love. It’s all about the two of you and it always will be.
BIBLIOGRAPHY
Whilst If You Go Away is a work of fiction, naturally I drew upon the recorded experiences of soldiers, conscientious objectors, actors, nurses and journalists of the time. When I was writing I found these books enormously helpful and interesting.
