“Please don’t kill the kitty. Please, please don’t kill the kitty.” Alexa whispers as she watches Felix sniff the kitten. Maxi holds still while she gets the sniff test. Although she is a Maine Coon, like Felix, her coloring is more of a calico. She meows low and rubs against Felix. Felix stiffens then Maxi starts purring. Once the purring begins Felix begins to clean her from her head to her neck.
I let out the breath I did not realize I was holding. Alexa grabs my arm. “Oh my god, he likes her. Wow, I always thought he was an only kitty kind of cat. He’s so spoiled.”
“The ladies think he is lonely and he needs another cat but because of his age an easy-going kitten is best.”
“Do you think it will work?”
“I hope so.”

The next morning is a lazy Saturday, sex and caresses finally give way to hunger and we are out of bed close to nine. We go out for breakfast, it’s nice and comfortable. When we get home, we are relieved to find Felix and Maxi are still happy and playing or dozing together, no blood or pee anywhere. We both work, me looking over a company I am interested in, Alexa writing. After a few hours, I look up to see Alexa stretching. She sees me watching her.
“Time for a walk. Come on lazy, we have to get off our butts and move around.” I make a face and go back to my report. “Fine, I’ll go alone.”
When she comes back from changing I look up to see her in yoga pants and a tight shirt that keeps shimmying up her ass. “You are not leaving in that. Go change.”
She bends over the couch showing me the pink bra she’s wearing. “I’ll change if you come with me.” I do not like being blackmailed. “Okay, I’ll suck your cock too.”
I am not, however, above bribery. I love the way she goes down on her knees with a smile. She takes her time, teasing me, moaning as I reach down to play with her breasts. Neither one of us lasts very long.
Downstairs, I glance around at the bright day and the people wandering around. “How long do we have to walk around?”
“Don’t be so grumpy this is good for us. If you quit complaining, you’ll actually enjoy yourself.”
Almost an hour later as we stop for lunch, I find I have enjoyed myself. Alexa’s phone goes off with a text. Her smile is as bright as the sun.
“You were right. They raised their offer, a two-book deal at fifty thousand the royalties three dollars per sale on both the soft cover print and the ebooks. Have I thanked you enough for all of this?”
