I can’t believe everything Leo has set in motion. It’s amazing, I feel overwhelmed by how much he cares. It doesn’t mean I’m not still pissed at him. When the elevator opens I fight not to chuck my stapler at it. The bastard had done it again. Okay, he waited until I started falling asleep, but it doesn’t change the fact he fucked me until I couldn’t move, then got up and left.

“My office, now.”

I’m such a slut. I hope no one can see the way I run after him, my body already wet with anticipation. He’s in a dark blue suit today that outlines his body lovingly. I close the door with a smile, Leo shakes his head then nods to the chair in front of his desk. “Sit.” What the hell? I wonder even as I don’t dare not follow instructions. “Behave, that will come later.” The fucker. “Do not start, Alexa, or there will not be a later. I will leave you wet and wanting.” Outrage flows through me. I’m so glad there’s nothing close enough to throw at him when he laughs. “Enough. Why have you not completed the interview questions for Entertainment Weekly?”

Of course, he knows. “I got the email an hour and a half ago. I was looking over the questions when you came in.”

Leo sips his coffee then gives that happy sigh as it flows down him. Pride fills me to know I did that for him. “Fine, you will do them this morning. Talk to Jenny to fill in for you for the day. You have an appointment at two this afternoon for a photo shoot. You will need photos for the Entertainment Weekly and USA Today interviews, your website, and the next print run of your book. Right now, Miguel is circling interviews for Bustle and Glamour magazine. He is sure if you end the week on the bestseller list you will get the interviews for both.”

“Are you serious?”

“Why would I not be?”

“Because I’m nobody. I didn’t realize you could get me that kind of exposure.”

Black eyes glint with anger. “I did not get you anything. Miguel has connections to the right people. My name was never a factor in the discussions about you. That said, if those outlets did not see something in your work, then nothing he said would matter. Your books deserve recognition, you have the reviews from readers that prove that. The Guardian article went a long way, if you want to assign responsibility do it to the writer of the article, Duncan Reilly.”

I shrug, embarrassed at jumping to conclusions. “Sorry. A photo shoot? Do you really think it’s necessary?”
