- About the Author
Sarah Hawley, you’ve seen me at my absolute worst and somehow still continue to be my steadfast friend. It’s debatable whether my worst was the deep, dark throws of PPD and PMDD…or that period of our lives where we lived together and drank double bottles of cheap wine while cooking our hot dogs in bacon grease and attempting to find underground vampire clubs in LA. Either way…thanks for being there and coming out the other side with me.
There are so many authors who’ve offered me nuggets of advice or who have patiently answered my questions in the last few years. I’m scared to list them because I’ll forget someone, but thank you to every Wicked Wallflowers guest because every single one of you shared a piece of wisdom I’ve tucked away.
In particular, though…
Penny Reid, you let me pick your brains about indie publishing and gave me the confidence to take that leap. You made me feel like I belonged at the table even when I’d crashed your dinner.
Jenn Watson and Christine Reiss, you were amazing enough to let me ask way too many questions over dinner (remember when going to dinner was a thing?). I see how hard you both work and I’m inspired by you!
Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings, you told me that any words still counted as words and if I just kept at it, even if some days it was only a hundred words, I’d eventually have a book. You have no idea how much I needed to hear that when you said it.
To all the other mamas out there struggling to find time to function, far less write. I see you. You’re doing great. You’re still a writer even when all you can do is think about your story.
The book is dedicated to my Coven and you all know who you are, you magnificent creatures you. You’ve all helped to build the sex positive, loving, supportive community of my dreams. Linda Watson, Kenny Shipley, Carolyn Mansfield, and Shannon Donahue…I don’t know how I got lucky enough for your paths to cross mine, but I’m honored it happened. Thanks for all that you do.
My mum and sisters are my biggest cheerleaders. I love you all to the ends of the Earth. Thanks for being proud of me!
I’m grateful to my babies for forcing me to slow down and be present. I’m in awe of the tiny people you’re becoming and I love you more than you’ll ever know.
Kris, my handsome Viking husband, thanks for showing me what love can be. Thanks for still loving me when I’m tired and frustrated. Thanks for believing in me. Thanks for all the…inspiration. Thanks for being my match.
