He chuckled, and she felt better. More in control. This was how she became Bunny Descent. People said nice things and she agreed with them. It was easy. Just a trick you had to play with your mind. Besides, she did have a nice vagina, small and pink and smooth. She kept a strip of golden hair in the front because she liked the way it shone in the lamplight when she used her vibrator. She felt him watch her as she adjusted her underwear and smoothed her wedding dress.
“You played a great set tonight.”
“Thanks.”
Again, it was easy to agree. She had played a great set. Everything had gone perfectly, and the energy had been on point. She smiled at Willow. “That video of you and the Koala was pretty cute.”
“Ah, so you do know who I am.”
“Yeah, although I’m not a football girl. Sorry.”
“That’s cool. I’m a big enough fan of you for both of us.”
She smiled. “That’s really nice.”
“I promise I’m not being nice. I’ve gone to three of your shows. You’re fantastic every time.”
She flushed. He was making it very hard for her to keep accepting compliments. “Cheers.”
He exhaled, adjusting himself in his jeans. Why were they talking about her DJ career while he still had a hard-on? But Eden knew the answer. Any more touching and this wouldn’t be playing high school—he’d want to take her home and she wasn’t ready to go home. It was probably better to end things now, before he asked.
“You okay, pretty girl?”
Eden smiled. “Yeah, um, thanks for helping me relive high school.”
“Anytime. Was it what you wanted?”
Better.
“Pretty much. I mean, you don’t smell like Red Bears and cheap weed. But that’s a plus.”
He laughed. “I wouldn’t have gotten near a girl like you in high school.”
“You? The school captain? You couldn’t get girls?”
“Not girls like you. To be fair, I used to get way too drunk and make fifty jokes instead of asking anyone if they wanted to dance with me. What about you? I bet guys were killing each other to get to you.”
She saw Him passing her a cigarette outside some stranger’s house, smelled the smoke, heard vaporwave pounding from nearby speakers. She blinked, trying to turn the memory black.
Willow moved closer. “You okay?”
“Yeah,” she lied. “Just thirsty. And feeling a bit guilty for using you.”
He touched her cheek, and the warm roughness of his palm was strange. She wasn’t used to men with hard hands. She liked it.
“Let’s be clear about something,” he said. “You can use me whenever the fuck you want.”
She smiled. Outside, the music changed. Eden recognised Cassias’ ‘Infinity.’ Willow frowned. “Do you wanna get back out there and dance? I wanna see Cassias.”
Eden’s heart shot up ten floors. “Really?”
