“You see what you do to me?” Jay leaned closer, his lips grazing mine. “Your body wants me. My body wants you. Why are you letting your head ruin it?”
“Because I don’t want your husband to murder me. I’m too young to die. Jealous rages are messy things. Don’t you watch TV? They usually end in bloodbaths and manhunts with the FBI. In case you didn’t notice, your husband is three times my size and has a perpetual angry face that is one hundred percent directed at me every time you touch me. I think he’s picturing all the ways he’s going to dismember me when you’re finished with my ass. Which, I admit, is a good plan because I’m useless after a good orgasm and wouldn’t have it in me to fight back. But I don’t want to die. Not yet. There is so much in my life I’m looking forward to. I’m one year away from getting my bachelor’s degree. I have a photo shoot where I have to make out with my brother again while trying not to get hard while he fondles my dick because it’s weird. I want to go to Egypt and see the pyramids. I’ve never bungee jumped or parachuted out of an airplane. So, so many things.”
Jay chuckled and moved in, taking the kiss I wasn’t offering. And me, being ten kinds of stupid and horny, let him. For a minute. As our bodies melted together and his tongue brushed mine, my phone rang, rattling my senses back online, and I shoved Jay away.
I fumbled with my phone and managed to answer it with shaking hands while keeping half an eye on Mr. Seductive himself.
“It was one kiss, and I didn’t enjoy it,” I barked into the phone, half-maniacal because in my confusion, I was already practicing defensive moves in my head for when Dean staged an attack.
“Atti, what’s going on?”
I eyed Jay, who didn’t look put off in the least. He leaned against the counter by the sinks, waiting for me to finish with my call while adjusting the cuffs on his shirt.
“Can I call you back? This isn’t a good time. I have one guy trying to grope me and the other trying to kill me. Why is this my life?”
“Are you in trouble?”
I laughed, loud and explosive, wild eyes glued on Jay’s. “Yes! Yes! Definitely in lots of trouble! Everything is not peachy, and I’m locked in the bathroom with a man who is doing all he can to get in my pants.” I paused. “You know, in any other circumstance, this wouldn’t be a bad thing.”
“Why are you acting weird?”
