Then we were kissing like the previous night with some minor—major—differences. We were naked, for one. His hand was resting on my fast-growing erection. And we had an audience. But he didn’t fight me. The kiss didn’t flow as well as the previous night. Our teeth got in the way, and the sensual dance that was supposed to be our tongues swirling together was more like a drunk uncle trying to figure out Miley Cyrus’s “Hoedown Throwdown” at a family wedding. It was sad and clunky.

My heart was actively trying to pummel its way through my chest too. The whole thing was a mess, and I was a little disappointed in us since we’d practiced this part.

As I was trying to find our groove, Asher disappeared. His hands dropped away, and his heat at my back vanished. It was so sudden, I stumbled backward a few steps before catching my balance—and the sock before it fell. I was sure he’d run out the door because of the aggressive way I’d taken over. Maybe he’d decided this was too much, but then I heard Lewis’s voice, going over instructions and giving us feedback.

When had I missed the cue to stop?

My head buzzed so loud, I couldn’t understand people’s words or instructions. My lips were raw and tasted like Asher, which was hard to process.

Jay brought me a towel and waited while I covered myself. He leaned closer, bringing his delicious cologne scent with him and whispered in my ear, “I wasn’t kidding about my husband and I liking a fresh ass in our bed from time to time. In case you need some relief later.” He glanced at where my slowly fading erection was hidden beneath the towel. “We’re always up for a third. Especially a cutie like you.” Then he stuffed a business card in my hand and turned, walking back over to Charlotte and Lewis, who were reviewing the pictures on the camera.

I glanced at the card. He’d written a room number and cell number on the back.

Asher was beside me in a flash, his voice low and rumbling. “What the fuck was that about?”

“Are you asking me as Asher or Ender?”

He didn’t answer, so I flashed my gaze in his direction, quirking a brow.

“End scene,” he hissed. “What was that about?”

I flicked the card up and waved it in his face. “Got myself a booty call for later.”

Asher tore the card from my hand and crumpled it. “Maybe don’t sleep with the people you’re trying to work for. That’s life rule number one.”

“Hey.” I picked the card out of his tight fist, scowling. “If I want to sleep with my boss, I will.”

“Charlotte is your boss.”

“Eww. If I want to sleep with the boss’s assistant and his husband, I will.”
