Once Asher was occupied with cucumber slices on his eyes—I didn’t question why Aria was turning my brother into a salad—Jay appeared beside me.
“Your brother reserves his best scowls for me. Have I done something to upset him?”
“You mean besides trying to get in my pants when you’re a married man?”
“Well, I’d try and get in his pants too, but I’ve learned my lesson about propositioning straight guys. Never ends well.”
“No? Shocking. Even with the cop husband and a gun as incentive?”
“Even then.” Jay sighed and bumped our shoulders together. He was too self-confident and unshakable. I got the feeling not too many guys said no to Jay, so my reticence was nothing more than a challenge. “Come on, beautiful. Let’s talk about the scene.”
He dragged me over to the bed and made a display of de-robing me. He chucked my only source of warmth aside and circled me, trailing a hand over my abdomen and around to the swell of my ass as he took me all in.
“Why do I get the feeling you’re using the power of your position to cop a feel of all my hotness?”
“Because you’re a smart man, and nothing gets past you.” Jay stopped in front of me, fingers pausing at the waistband of my underwear. They dipped an inch underneath. “You weren’t complaining about me copping a feel under the table at dinner last month.”
“Touché.”
“Lewis? Are you sure we can’t lose the underwear?” Jay wet his lips as his hungry gaze devoured me.
Lewis mumbled something about it not being necessary yet. Not once did he look up and see what Jay was implying.
Jay grew bolder, his fingers dipping low enough to glance where I’d manscaped and feather the top of my dick where it was tucked inside. My stomach fluttered. It felt good, but he wasn’t the one I wanted touching me like that.
Catching his wrist, I removed his hand with a nervous laugh. “Okay. You’re awfully handsy, mister. Careful. Not everyone here is into voyeurism. Besides, I think you’re crossing lines.”
“Am I?”
“I told you I wasn’t sure this was what I wanted.”
“I remember. I can’t talk you into one drink tonight? It doesn’t have to mean more.”
