If Q did something, he always made sure he did it right. He spared no expense when it came time to fulfill his sexual fantasy. He rented a suite in a five-star hotel in downtown Philly. Tender was given a handsome allowance of five thousand dollars to do what she had to do on her end. Q was no cheapskate; he knew you had to pay to play.
Though Tender wasn’t all for Kat being in on this, she went along with the program. From her statements in the past, she knew Kat was freaky enough to do it. She still wondered to this day if Kat ever went down on another girl before. Knowing her, she didn’t put it past her. There was no turning back now; everything had to go as planned, or she ran the risk of losing Q. Surely, a man of his stature had females scattered across the city at his beck and call.
“Listen, I’ma give you some more money toward dat lawyer fa Goldie,” Tender stated. “Put dat wit the other money you had fa me. From Miami?”
“Oh, …” she replied, somewhat puzzled before catching on. “Alright. I gotcha. If we hustle a little harder we should have enuff to hire her the best lawyer in the city. She needs a good trial lawyer. Not only who’s gonna get her to cop out ta an asshole fulla time.”
Little did Tender know, she wasn’t contributing any money toward hiring a lawyer for Goldie. She was donating her money to the Keep Kat Living It Up Fund. And there would be no refunds.
“I know,” Tender assured her. “Them muthafucka’s iz expensive as shit too.”
“Yeah, they sure don’t work fa peanuts,” Kat added. “But we can do it. We gotta do it fa our girl. We da only hope she’s got—”
“You right about dat,” Tender admitted. “You heard from her lately? I think I missed her call.”
“Yeah, she called while you were ’sleep,” Kat lied. “She doin’ betta. My peoples iz takin’ care of her. They lookin’ out fa her. She’s in good hands … I told her just ta keep her head up. Na’mean? She’ll be back in Philly inna minute.”
Kat was lying out the side of her mouth. She hadn’t heard from Goldie since she left. Having changed her house telephone number, it would almost be impossible for Goldie to call. Her cell phone number remained the same, only because she had loyal customers on it. Even if she did call, Kat would probably hang up the phone on her. She wanted no contact with her. Goldie was hot; she was wanted by the cops. Kat didn’t want that kind of heat around her. Let Goldie stay where she was at. She hoped Goldie would do everybody a favor and just kill herself.
