“Then Savina and her new husband will rule Cava, and my family and I can do anything we like? Leave Cava? Go back to pirating?”
“Yes.”
Lou wrapped her arms around my waist and squeezed.
“One more question.” This time I skewered my father, the God of Prophecy, with my stare. “Does Zeus’ reason for beckoning you all back to Mt. Olympus have anything to do with why it’s so important that I rule?”
Apollo glanced at Artemis. She nodded encouragement.
“Yes, but it’s not about you. It’s Savina.”
Acknowledgments
First and foremost, I have to thank all my reviewers, book tour participants and street team, and to you, the reader, for picking up War of the Sea and diving into this magical world of Pirates, Greek Gods, Sirens, and the Royal Navy of Cava. Without you, the crew of The Freedom and The Sea Singer could never have become the heroes the world needed to rid the ocean of the bloodthirsty sirens and end the War of the Sea. I am so grateful for your support and love of Rylander and Lou. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You never know, maybe we will revisit this world on land. Wink. Wink.
A big hug and thank you to Kristen Roberts who started this novel's journey with me what feels like a lifetime ago. You aren’t just a great editor but a wonderful friend.
Hannah Sandoval, you are one heck of a fantasy advisor, dictionary/thesaurus aficionado, and knower of all things. When I think of you, I immediately picture a life raft. The scene where Smitter jumps in the water and helps Rylander and Lou get lifted back into the ship is the same way you help me get back into the stories I write. Thank you for always coming to my aid.
Jennifer Eaton, you might be the best thing to ever happen to my writing. When I think of you, I picture a coach with a clipboard! Hands down, you are the most honest, resourceful, and boundary pushing developmental editor I have had the privilege to work with. Thank you….never stop telling me to do better!
Jay Aheer, there are no words for how amazing you are. We struggled with this cover but when we nailed it….boy, did we nail it. I'm so in love with it, I can't stop staring at it. You are a dream designer. Thank you.
To my father, who never let's me shy away from a challenge. Without him, I wouldn’t believe in the impossible. And because of him, I’ll never stop reaching for my next goal.
To my mother, who left this world leaving me in charge of her legacy. Each day, I strive to make you proud. And because of the experiences you missed, I make sure to always make the most of mine in your honor.
