“Chinese,” he tells me, and I nod, grabbing the champagne and sipping the cool bubbly. “Or pizza.”
“God, no more pizza,” I tell him. “I had to babysit for three days, and we ate pizza every single day.”
“Why?” he asks softly, taking a foot in his hand and rubbing it.
“Well, because, according to the kids, it’s the best food on earth. Ever and ever.” I tell him what the kids told me.
“Well, Chinese it is,” he says, leaning over and kissing my lips. “I’ll go order it.” When he stands, I look at his thick legs, and then my eyes go to my favorite place. Even hanging, it’s the biggest I’ve ever had. Then my eyes travel up his six-pack to his perfect pecs and that beard. “You keep looking at me like that, and we may flood the bathroom.” And just like that, I’m not hungry anymore.
He steps out of the tub and grabs his plush white robe with an M monogrammed on it. He turns and walks into his dressing area attached to his walk-in closet and comes back with a box. “What is that?”
“I got you something,” he says, and I glare at him. “Nothing alive,” he says, and I smile.
“I’ll leave it here for you.” He puts it beside the tub, and I get up and grab the white box.
I open the top and then see the white tissue with blue under it. I open it, and I have no choice but to laugh. It’s a baby blue plush robe with all kinds of fish over it. “Figured that would be okay.”
“This is more than okay,” I tell him, getting out of the tub. He kisses me and then walks out of the room to go order the Chinese, leaving me to dry off. I slip into the robe and then walk downstairs to find him. He’s sitting in the living room. I walk in and see the same view as in his bedroom, wall-to-wall windows showcasing the beautiful sunset. It’s such a big living room that it’s divided into three. I walk past the fireplace in the middle of the room with two chairs in front of it and then toward the L-shaped gray couch that faces the water. “It’s so pretty,” I say, going to sit next to him in the middle of the couch and curling my feet under me. “Did you order?”
“I did. It should be here in about thirty minutes. I didn’t know what you wanted, so I ordered more food than we will eat.” He looks over at me.
“So tell me about New Orleans.” I’m still not sure if I want to go.
