Thank you to Mel at Made Me Blush books for the developmental editing, and to Lindsey with PineCorn Publishing for the proofreading and for catching all the times I forgot the eye color of a secondary character. Thank you Whitney Law at New Ink Services for the stunning chapter headers that appear in the print version of The Witch Queen, and to Selkkie Designs for that incredible cover and for answering the MILLION of questions I had about cover design and print formatting. Thank you to my incredible Street Team and ARC readers, who have supported this book with just a description and had no idea if it was any good but were excited to give me a chance anyway.

And to once again participate in another author acknowledgements cliche, I have to say thank you to my incredible husband, Dan. Our lives completely changed when I one day decided, literally completely out of the blue while in the bathtub, that I might want to try and write a book. I had never once in our entire relationship expressed interest in being in author or writing a book. In fact, when you met me while I was in grad school, I think I might have said something like, once I get my master’s I’ll never write anything ever again. Thank you for picking up the slack in all of our house chores, for entertaining yourself alone while I spent entire weekends writing, and for letting me read the book aloud to you on every single road trip we took in the fall of 2024. Sorry I didn’t dedicate this first book to you, but the series dedication is all yours.

About the Author

Alexandria Arden, or Alley, has been writing since she was young. Somewhere between the self-consciousness of her teenage years and the soul crushing experience that was grad school, she stopped writing creatively, convincing herself that the thing she loved doing as a child just “wasn’t her skillset.“

Cue the pandemic and the rise of popular Fantasy Romance books. Alley rediscovered her love of reading and stories. Throughout that process, she started an Instagram account and podcast dedicated to talking about books. She’s built an incredible community of readers and authors alike, and it was this community who inspired her to revisit that childhood passion of writing.

Alley lives in Salt Lake City, Utah with her husband and the true love of her life, her cat Willow. When she’s not reading or writing, Alley can be found working in her yard, starting a house project she can’t finish, or complaining while hiking in the Wasatch mountains. Alley is most active on her Instagram accounts, @alexandriaardenauthor and @alleycatsandbooks
