Woman
She had a madness to her, as wild women often do. She was a force of nature, you see. Capable of burning what stood in her way to ash and warming the hearts of those in need of her glowing embers. When she walked through the dark, she did not need to look for the light at the end of the tunnel. She became the light. When she felt fear, she did not let it snuff out her flames. She used it to spread her dreams like a forest fire. There were days when she was a joyful woman. There were days when she was an angry woman. But no matter the day, she knew every emotion was beautiful and deserving of her respect. She was a wild woman, you see. And wild women know the strength it takes in this world to become free.
Decisions
There has never been a single moment
When you have not held within you the power to change your life in an instant
An unlimited number of paths stretch before you
And you may choose any route
Or, with a few simple words, paint an entirely new path . . .
The immeasurable power of decision that belongs to us may overwhelm some people
So they stick to the straightest path that appears to be safe
Fearing the blind spots of twists and turns
If only they knew what waited for them just around the corner . . .
Questions
Sometimes the answers are in the questions themselves
Who Are You?
“Who are you?” he asked . . .
She began to wander the library of her mind, searching for
an honest answer to his question. Yet all she could find was
what she was not.
“I am not my name.
I am not my body.
I am not my lover.
I am not my art.
I am not my bank account.
I am not my past.
I am not who you think I am.
I am not even who I think I am.”
As she continued, panic slowly began to rise inside her as the many layers of the identity she had crafted over a lifetime dissolved. In a world where there’s an abundance of knowledge and an absence of wisdom, she felt any answer slip through her fingertips. “Who are you?” he asked, smiling this time. As she became more embodied in the present, she felt herself as consciousness anchored in absolute neutrality. A simple state of being. Like any other tree, mountain, river, or form of nature. Yet what makes being human precious is that we can play in the world of time. We have all the ingredients to create a recipe for pleasure or pain. But the key is to recognize the pieces of our identity as just that . . . ingredients to create our life with as we move through the eternal now.
