A Tale of Two Lovers

When I woke up from my dream

My feet were bruised

From wandering the galaxy

I danced on Saturn’s rings

And swam in the depths

Of Neptune’s ocean

More stars swirled around me

Than I had ever seen

I lay down within

A bed of constellations

And observed this strange, blue planet

I turned to the Sun, who smiled at me

“What is this place?” I asked him

The Sun replied, “It is called Earth. My love breathes life into her.”

Confused, I said, “But you’re so very far away.”

The Sun sighed, “We must allow the things we love absolute freedom.”

That instrument you call a heart

Have you played it lately?

Have you created music

For your loved ones to dance to?

Or is your instrument a little out of tune

Gathering dust?

I know how your starving heart gets

When you live in a world without music

Contradictions

Be a walking contradiction. Be strong and soft. Be silly and sincere. Be deep and lighthearted. Be beautiful and intelligent. Be confident and humble. Be content climbing a mountain and enjoying the sweetness of doing nothing. The world may try and classify you as one thing because that is far easier to understand than a person who has a little bit of everything in them. And you may feel misunderstood for a while, but just remember your people can only find you if you’re brave enough to be yourself. There are parts of you that you have yet to discover. There is greater love that you have yet to find. There are experiences that are far beyond your imagination. And it’s all waiting for you. Life is waiting for you. Set aside your expectations and go explore it.
