She presses her body against mine and kisses me. She makes a little humming sound as she steps away and pulls me with her. “We should hang out. I promise that I’ll still be good for quickie sex later.”

I sit in a big armchair and tug Sydney down on my lap. Someone hands us both a beer. Tara’s amped up and carries the conversation.

Me, I get to sit back, wrap my arms around my girl, and soak up the moment. I played in an NBA game today. I get paid to play basketball. And baseball. But the best part is I’ve got my best friend by my side.
