Alby would go on to become one of the world’s foremost physicists, mentioned in the same breath as Stephen Hawking, Richard Feynman and his hero, Albert Einstein.
His early involvement in the Omega Event gave him insights into the subject matter that few others could even hope to emulate, to the extent that his work furthering the Friedmann Equation—the mathematical model of the expanding universe—and Einstein’s work on it where k was greater than zero was seen as groundbreaking.
He became a professor of astrophysics at the California Institute of Technology, a position he would hold for the rest of his life.
But for all his accomplishments, all his scholarly work, he was most proud of his family.
Alby and Lily would have four children. First, twin girls, then a boy and then another girl.
The twin girls, of course, were born with the ability to read the Word of Thoth, but Lily and Alby quickly realised that the other two were also very adept at picking up languages, so Lily taught it to them as well.
This was something that, in the months after the Omega Event, Lily and Alby had spoken about with Jack and Zoe.
They needed to ensure that Earth did not lose the knowledge required to avert Omega again, and as the ones who held that knowledge—the Capstone of the Great Pyramid, the six Pillars of the Machine, the locations of the Three Secret Cities, the Altar of the Cosmos inside the Rock of Gibraltar, the four remaining iron mountains, and of course, the Throne of the Tree of Death inside the Supreme Labyrinth—it was their responsibility to make sure this knowledge was not lost.
The first step was teaching Lily’s children the Word of Thoth and also enhancing the Church’s computer programs that could decode it.
They also set about analysing the Altar of the Cosmos inside the Rock of Gibraltar and the sacrificial pool within it. They did this with a team of the world’s finest geneticists and DNA experts and after a few years, it was deduced how the terrible ritual at that chamber could be performed with only the blood of an Oracle and not require anyone to be killed for the ritual to work.
Nobody and Iolanthe went on their date and it went very well.
They lived together at Nobody’s estate in Jamaica.
Iolanthe never let her hair grow back.
In fact, she lived the rest of her life with her head shaved. She said she preferred herself that way.
Pooh Bear and Dr Tracy Smith would also go on a date, and then more dates, and then, a year or so later, they got married in a glittering ceremony in a palace in the United Arab Emirates while Pooh Bear’s beaming mother cried with joy.
The best man, of course, was Stretch.
Jack attended as the second groomsman.
