It was decadent, just like the plates of chocolate-covered, cream-dipped strawberries, the brownie-bottomed cheesecakes with a rich strawberry glaze on top, and the cinnamon-crumble-crusted apple pie, all of which were laid out by the maid Lucas had picked up at Hermann’s tavern. The girl placed a plate of delicacies next to the neatly folded towel everyone had near their chosen spot in the tub. The maid gave Nick nothing, however. While Lucas and all of the women had disrobed, throwing all their clothes off and hopping into the bath nude, Nick had, for some reason only known to him, thought to keep on a bathing suit when he got in. This of course, as the maid said, was “an unacceptable denial of his own manhood and should not be rewarded by the master’s tasty treats.”

“Man, that tome is awesome,” Nick said, looking at the hefty collection of spells after shooting the maid a pathetic look. He had gotten used to the maid’s incessant refusal to serve him anything, treating him like a second-class citizen in the manor, so he just focused his attention on Lucas’s new toy. He had wanted to be a Mage, so naturally a big, fat spell book with so many skills would be of incredible interest to him.

“Yeah,” Lucas replied, nodding. “But it’s actually cursed.”

“Cursed?” Nick asked as he looked at the book.

“Yup. Only those who have inherited the Maidbanger’s estate and reside on this island can use it. If I ever plan on leaving here, I’m going to have to go back to my old staff. But this book really wasn’t the best item; that was the—”

“Glasses? Those Maidbanger’s Targeting Specs?” Bonnie asked, chuckling rather loudly. At this point, everyone knew what Dray’s glasses did. They caused the wearer to have a +500 Charisma score but only when attempting to seduce maids. That was it. They even had a -50 Charisma penalty when attempting to talk to women who weren’t maids.

“Do you need them, Bonnie?” Lucas asked, pulling them out of his Belt of Backup. It was essentially a fanny pack of sorts, a single leather belt with two bags built onto either side that were each capable of holding up to fifteen pounds of weight. Basically, each bag was able to store a bunch of small items or a weapon set. It was an amazing item that was, in Lucas’s opinion, the best thing he’d gotten since he first started fighting on the island.

“What? Me? Need help picking up butlers? Not now. I am flush with money. I’ll be fine,” Bonnie said, throwing her head up. “Been making a fortune off all the players we’ve gotten to kill.”

“Yeah, who would have thought the dungeon would actually be as popular as it is. I can’t believe how many players remade just to try and get territory,” Nick replied.
