“Fine, take me to the air conditioning!” It was partly a demand, because my man was right. It was hot as fuck outside. Damn the south when you try to plan anything that involves being outdoors. It’s either allergy season, baking temperatures, or raining. One day out of the year we might get an ice slash kind of snowstorm that will throw everyone for a loop, but mostly it’s the other things that kill it. Oh, and don’t get me started on the bugs. I smacked a mosquito just as it landed on my arm.
“Sorry,” Tucker murmured as he held the back door open for me. I moved inside and once he was in with the door shut behind us, I leaned up on the tip of my toes and kissed the bottom of his jaw. Yeah, short girl problems. I couldn’t reach his lips unless he bent down, but whatever. He got the hint and reached out to grab me by my hips. Within seconds, my legs were wrapped around his waist and his lips were on mine. “Is that what you were trying for, sweet Mina?”
“You know it was,” I whimpered against his lips as his giant hands palmed my ass and squeezed. “Are you going to show me around the house while I hang on you like this?”
“What? Is there a better way to see it?”
I laughed at him then, but also didn’t bother to demand that he put me down. That wasn’t what I wanted at all.
We had the rest of forever to see the house. The thing I wanted most was to finally just be with my husband. I know. It’s weird that we had been married for months and still had not had actual sex yet. When Tucker told me that we were going to take it slow as we both finally committed to our relationship for real, I honestly didn’t think he would be the holdout. He was though. The man who once didn’t put a single thought beyond what would make him feel good next, had set all that aside and made sure that I learned to trust him first.
I had to respect that, and the fact that he had shown me I could have faith in him. He knew words didn’t mean much to me, considering how easily people lie. Actions speak volumes though, and considering the house, the rose petals everywhere, and the fact that the master bedroom in our brand-new home was already decorated, his actions were speaking loud and clear.
I giggled as Tucker tossed me onto the bed. Just as in his apartment, the bed in this house was huge. It went beyond the normal king-size and had to be special order, only this one was round instead of rectangular and I adored it immediately. “I’m so tiny compared to this bed,” I admitted.
“Nah, you forgot that I’ll be in it with you, and we need plenty of room.”
“Do we now?”
