“What’s up over there, Mina?” I wasn’t sure why Wes was at the apartment when my husband was supposedly out at a meeting somewhere. It seemed like his lawyer should have been present for any kind of business stuff he might have been doing. When I didn’t answer, Wes got up and moved to look over my shoulder.

“M.K. Robeson?” He asked. “Holy shit! Is that you?” I nodded my head, still speechless. Wes moved my hand out of the way and scrolled up a little. “Mina? Is this the New York Times Best Sellers List?”

“Yep,” I answered as I continued to stare at the impossibility that my brain was having difficulty processing.

“And M.K. Robeson is your name?”

“Yep.”

“So, that’s your book at number eight on the list?”

“Yep,” I answered again.

“Good to see you’re a genius with words,” he laughed as he tormented me. “Congratulations!” He spun my chair and then grabbed ahold of my hand in order to pull me to my feet. Then, my husband’s best friend hugged the absolute shit out of me. He was actually in the midst of spinning me around as the door opened and Tucker walked in.

“What the hell is going on?” My husband asked, though he didn’t sound the least bit upset that his friend was manhandling me.

“Your wife has awesome news to share with you!”

“What’s going on?” Tucker asked again.

“I did it,” I told him as Wes released me and gently pushed me in the direction of my husband.

“Okay, what exactly did you do?” He huffed out a little laugh as he closed the distance between us. I marveled at the ease with which he was moving around now. Tucker had taken his physical therapy seriously and managed to get his body back to working order a bit quicker than was expected. He reached out and pulled me into the circle of his arms.

“Oh, for Christ’s sake, she made the NYT list, man. That’s huge.”

“New York Times? For your book?” Tucker asked. I nodded against his chest.

Wes laughed. “I think she’s still in shock or something.”

Tucker kissed the top of my head and then shocked me further. “I don’t know why? We knew she was going to do great things.” I tipped my head back and smiled so brightly at my husband it was no small wonder that he didn’t go blind from it. “Remember the stuff we saw her writing at the airport in Vegas that time?” He asked Wes and they both burst into laughter at the memory of discovering I actually did write ‘mommy porn’.

Once the two chuckleheads finally quit laughing, Tucker swept me up in his arms and carried me to the couch. “We should go out and celebrate tonight. Call Luna, Bea, and whoever else and see if they can come on short notice. If not, we’ll plan something else with them soon and make it just the two of us tonight instead.”
