‘All the Masters put the well-being of all of creation before Their personal interest. The very fact that the Masters do not take the final leap into The Great Fire that allows Them to merge with The One and thus, become The One, is because They love Their children so much, that They want to help each and every one to first merge and only then consider Their work to be complete. My brother, the Great Taj, Tajuddin Baba, was very clear when He said that till He did not help in making one lakh and twenty thousand (1,20,000) Saints on earth, He would not rest or take the final leap towards liberation of His own self by merging with The One. This is what spirituality is about. Spreading the fragrance of The One to all and not trying to use it for one’s own individual ego, power or advancement. It is meant for everybody’s well-being. Every time an individual grows truly spiritual, it helps all of creation, beta. But the important thing is to grow truly spiritual which is never an individualistic back alley but a highway through which countless travellers pass through. You have to become that highway, you gnome, not some secret tunnel; this is most important. I fear nowadays personal growth has become more important than universal well-being. Everybody is more concerned about his or her own personal growth than spreading the fragrance to one and all. There is nothing spiritual about this. Share your fragrance and see how beautifully you shall grow too. Share yourself to become whole. All spirituality has to be holistic and never individualistic. If we meditate or pray only for oneself or one’s near and dear ones and not for one and all, it means we adhere to the philosophy of diversity and not of true Oneness. If Oneness does not exist then true spirituality does not exist. If our prayers do not involve those who are not in our orbit, the unfortunate, the dying, the starving, the meek, the damned, the bullied, the tortured, the ailing, the lonely, the defeated, those left behind, the earth bound or those who have gone astray, we are not truly walking the path of spirituality. We are in a car that is truly not moving anywhere but is in fact stationary, in the illusion of it moving ahead. If each moment is not spent in spreading the Light and Compassion of The One, then, there is something we are doing wrong. Just prayers, just charity, just visions, just prophecy—is never enough, it remains . . . just something, not everything. It is not inclusive, but exclusive, and there is no place for exclusivity but always room for inclusiveness. It has to be a composition, a symphony of all the right notes creating the right music with all the right instruments. If we do not use every bit of ourselves with every bit of all that we have got, then the scenery keeps changing due to the illusionary projector behind us but we are rooted at the same spot, like those photography studios of earlier days, where cut-outs of monuments and travel destinations kept changing behind you while you sat rooted to one spot, in some cut-out vehicle, a car or a plane; you were seated on the same seat while the backdrop kept changing behind you; all shadow-boxing, nobody went anywhere.’
