‘Knowledge and intelligence are important but wisdom comes forth in living one’s life, embracing one’s lot calmly while giving each moment our very best. This leads to further calmness and going within and living each moment in the best possible manner. The moment this happens you become still within and a truly calm individual. You become a less judgemental person. You become a more compassionate being. And when you have gone through the process of self-inquiry and you merge your raw material, which are your strengths, weaknesses and limitations, that you have garnered through self-inquiry with your knowledge of how to accept your Karmic lot, you become an evolved soul. It is as simple or as complicated as this uncomplicated philosophy. As simple or as difficult life becomes for the person who knows how to embrace Karma peacefully giving his or her best or how one fights each Karmic experience. In reality this is one of the foundations of spiritual growth. How does one learn to accept his or her lot? That acceptance shall come about with the conscious or subconscious realization of how to embrace one’s Karma, as our lot and our Karma are one and the same thing. You may know all about Karma but if you are not willing to accept it gracefully then you shall never be able to repose in calm and still waters. You shall always be using your free will to fight your lot and your Karmic blueprint. I hope your thick head is getting all that I am trying to instill within?’
‘Yes, my darling Karmic boss!’
‘Good. Sometimes the expressions on your face speak of complete daftness. Anyway, just because somebody knows everything or, to the world, is a very wise individual means nothing if that individual does not know how to embrace one’s Karma or one’s lot with peace and graceful surrender and calm acceptance, but of course after giving each moment one’s very best. This is where free will comes into play, giving each moment our very best. The more we give each moment our very best, inherently we are accepting our lot most gracefully. To give each moment our very best we need to understand the workings of Karma and the power of our own free will. So strangely Karma and free will have to work hand in hand for the individual to grow and to come from a place of calmness and stillness; come from sthirtha, which means pure stillness.’
‘How does one do that, Baba? Especially when one is going through truly rough times.’
