- About the Author
Every single person at El Refugio had been transformed in a moment of time in the same manner as Carl and Lori. There were now no handicaps, no deformities, no sorrows, no arthritis, no deafness, no disease. Only youth and vigor, laughter and joy. It was like an unveiling. The veil of mortality had been lifted. Transformed spiritual beauty was there for everyone to see.
But the unveiling of God’s children was not confined to El Refugio. All over the world the homeless and the oppressed who had refused to deny their Lord were being rewarded. Their glory reflected the glory of God. In turn, the earth itself was radiating the glory of God’s people. The flowers burst into bloom, the birds sang, the animals were at peace. Even the poisonous snakes were no longer a threat.
The promise of God had been fulfilled. The era of peace had begun. Peace between God and man. Peace between man and his fellowman. Peace between mankind and nature. No living being would hurt or destroy God’s earth anymore. No longer would the youth of the world be trained to fight and kill in war. For the first time since creation, there truly was peace on earth and good will among men.
Then the people of El Refugio saw what seemed like a gigantic shimmering space-craft coming down to orbit the earth. It was a giant, jeweled cube about fourteen hundred miles on each side, suspended between heaven and earth. It was the New Jerusalem. It was to be the home of God and His Son, Jesus Christ. And it was to be forever the home of all those who had come to faith in Christ.
Manuel Quintana, Cathy Quintana, and their sons, all holding hands were slowly lifted up to New Jerusalem. They sang as they went. Dave Busby and Charley McAtee were right alongside. Carl and Lori, holding each other’s hands, rose majestically into the sky.
John Edwards, his work at last completed, was lifted from the earth and welcomed into the joy of his Lord along with his daughter, Nicole, now transformed in radiance—the daughter he had once feared that he would never see again.
Vince and Angie D’Agostino were lifted into the air.
Al and Barbara Augustus were there as well, arm and arm, and Archie Gladstone ascended to the New Jerusalem at the head of four divisions from the Western Defense Zone. Not one of God’s people was left behind. They rose from every part of the planet. Like glorified rivers of light, they streamed into the New Jerusalem and entered into God’s rest.
The old age had ended, and the reign of Jesus Christ and His saints had at long last begun.
