  35. About the Author

From Rajahmundry, located in the state of Andra Pradesh, Mark Beaulieu journeyed north and west to the ashram of the famous guru, Raj Baba. According to Indian legend, Raj Baba could levitate. Raj Baba could tell the future. Raj Baba spoke wisdom received from ascended masters—the ancients who supposedly had been reincarnated many times, until they had attained a state of perfection. Even the prime ministers of India came to the ashram during the last decades of the twentieth century and fell on their faces before Raj Baba. They venerated him as an extraordinary person and sought his wisdom.

When Mark Beaulieu first learned of the guru, he decided to go to him and learn from him. He set out on the road from Rajahmundry, and, after a series of rides in assorted vehicles, he reached the village where Raj Baba lived.

Raj Baba was seated on a raised platform. His disciples were gathered around him. When Mark Beaulieu appeared at the back of the assembled crowd, Raj Baba’s head jerked violently back and forth, his mouth and jaw grew slack, and spittle drooled out of the side of his mouth. His eyes ceased to look human. Then, something overpoweringly malevolent stared out at the crowd. His mouth began to move, and those seated before him heard a voice that seemed to be coming from an echo chamber. “You have been chosen by Shiva,” the voice said. “Shiva will give you power and wisdom to destroy, then create again. You will rule your people in the name of Shiva.”

It was over in a minute. Raj Baba returned to his normal state. He pointed a finger at Mark Beaulieu, “You, young man! That message was for you. You must live here with me, and I will teach you the secrets of the ascended masters.”

Mark Beaulieu did not fully understand what had happened to him. Without his conscious knowledge, a powerful demonic spirit had entered the very core of his being.

Two assistants appeared at Mark’s side, took his knapsack, and ushered him politely to rustic quarters. “You, sir,” one of them told him, “have been specially chosen to receive many secrets. Stay here and meditate. Then, Master Raj Baba will call for you.”

Thus, Mark Beaulieu, wealthy playboy, pseudoradical, seeker of truth, was introduced to occult secrets few Westerners have ever dreamed about. When he left six months later, he was controlled and directed by powerful demonic forces that far transcended his human understanding. Only upon his return to America did Mark Beaulieu realize the power he now possessed over people.

BACK IN NEW YORK, Mark Beaulieu entered a world he had never known before. A cosmopolitan group of businessmen, diplomats, and politicians were thrown across his path. It seemed that everything was happening by chance until one day he learned what was taking place.
