Acknowledgments

As always, so much gratitude goes to my fantastic editor, Deb Werksman, who keeps me on my toes and makes sure my stories are the best they can be. Thank you for all your notes and insight, Deb!

A huge thanks to the entire production, design, sales, and publicity teams at Sourcebooks Casablanca for your tireless efforts behind the scenes—I’m so grateful for everything you do. To Pamela Jaffee and Katie Stutz, thank you for your brilliance in publicity and marketing, and for giving my books the best chance to succeed.

To my stellar agent, Thao Le, words cannot ever express how much you mean to me. I realize this sounds like a love ballad, and it kind of is, because I’m all up in my feelings right now. They’re up there with lyrics from Journey, Whitney Houston, and Taylor Swift. But in all seriousness, thank you for being such an incredible advocate.

An enormous thank you goes to the amazing women in my life who keep me company on this wild publishing adventure, call me regularly, read my manuscript drafts, gawk over cover concepts, blurb my books no matter how many times I ask, put up with my grumbling, send me funny TikToks, and generally make me feel appreciated, seen, and valued, I have so much love for you. Thank you. Your friendship means the world to me.

To all the readers, reviewers, booksellers, librarians, educators, extended family, and friends who support me and spread the word about my books, a heartfelt thanks to you.

Last but definitely not least, to my incredible family, Cameron, Connor, Noah, and Olivia, I love you so much. Thanks for putting up with me and reminding me to shower, eat, and not become a hobbit.
