There were plenty of demands, most notably for him to not go through it. I was an Omega, but I still had my memories of being a pure Human male. I wasn’t Alpha, but I have plenty of insight into guys like him. One of the worst things you could do is tell them ‘No’. I think this helped form the idea to attack me but nothing spurred men like him more than a direct challenge.

“I’ll do what I want.”

“Leave it alone. I order you to stop.”

He sneered. “Fuck you.” Thick fingers dug into my neck and he pulled. It was like hard dough around my neck as he tugged.

“It’s not yours. You can’t have it. Stop it now.”

It was another command, and I wasn’t in a position to order him about. His forehead scrunched as it stretched from my neck to his fingers. “What the fuck is this?” He grunted while the collar dug into my neck.

I was about to lose hope when the color glowed purple and bathed the area in an eerie, pulsating light. Nate jerked his head. A secondary white light turned the surrounding nighttime country into temporary daytime. Against the white blinding light, I saw the black shadowy outline of a towering, muscled male. I recognized the familiar thick biceps and wide thigh muscles of the Volardi who had laid in bed with me. Earlier he was somebody to avoid, perhaps even loathe. Now?

Nate still had the stretched-out collar in his hand while he looked up with wide eyes. The collar spoke with a musical electronic reverb in Volardi. “Security notification. Do not attempt to remove the Claiming Collar.” Judging from Nate’s continual staring, he didn’t pick up on the message.

“Do something,” I screamed.

Matros took a step forward. His huge foot dug into the ground due to his muscled weight.

Matros’ eyes closed as I awaited a fight that didn’t come.

“I can’t. You’re unclaimed.”

Fortunately, the data transfer they gave me earlier, allowed me to understand Volardi although I still sort of heard it as English. Almost like two parts of me were active at once.

“This is why,” explained Matros slowly, “we don’t let new Omegas out before bonding.”

I swallowed hard. Nearly everything that’s happened resulted from my choices. I changed because of money. Attempts to protect my family sent my twin protector away. A plan to use my Pa’s health concerns sent me back to Earth and under Nate’s heavy body.

My lips thinned. “Then get him off.”
