I’d also like to thank the many editors who have published stories of mine that led up to me writing this novel: Jason Sizemore, Bill Campbell, Scott Andrews, Susan Forest, Lucas K. Law, Mur Lafferty (for the story I did finish), Lynne and Michael Thomas.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank the friends who were my cheerleaders along the way. Anthony Cardno. Wayne Brady. Jerry Gordon. And I know I’m forgetting some folks, but luckily there will be Book Two.…

A special thank-you to Rodney Carlstrom and Will Johnson.

An even more special thank-you to Chesya Burke.

And the most special thank-yous to my mom and my sons, Reese and Malcolm, and my wife, Sally.

I couldn’t make this journey without you.
