“I love that you love her,” Annie said and tucked herself under Bristol’s arm. She was so happy. She and Bristol had started Serendipity, a small record label where they found new-to-the-scene musicians and got them in front of people. Annie posted videos of new acts to her YouTube channel, which had grown exponentially since the world found out she and Bristol were together.

“I’m so proud of you,” Bristol said. She leaned her head against Annie’s.

“We’ve come a long way, haven’t we?” Annie asked.

“A true power couple,” Bristol said. The tabloids called them Bristannie, which was completely ridiculous, but Lizzy managed to start an online merch store where fans could buy T-shirts, hoodies, and coffee mugs with #Bristannie stamped on them. Bristol insisted all proceeds go to music programs for schools. They worked with organizations all over the country to get instruments back in the hands of children and teens who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity.

Raven yowled at them again.

“Knocked down to reality by a cat.” Annie laughed.

“Tragic, but true.” Bristol tightened her hold on Annie. “What do you want to do tonight?”

“Hang out with you and our cat. Did you have something else in mind?”

“What do you say to your own private Bristol Baines concert? It’s been a long time since I sang to you.”

Annie laughed. “We literally just did a mini concert for my family last week.”

“But it wasn’t just for you. You deserve your own performance,” Bristol said.

“I can’t turn down an offer like that.” Annie smiled.

Bristol held up two fingers. “I have two conditions.”

“It was your idea. Now you have conditions?”

Bristol nodded seriously. “One, the event has to take place in the bedroom. The acoustics are best there.” Annie rolled her eyes at the obvious lie. “And two, you have to sing with me. We make the best music together.”

“Deal.”

Bristol held her finger up for Annie to wait and returned with her Preston Thompson guitar. “Any requests?”

“All of them.”

Annie sprawled on the bed and listened to Bristol play the songs that had made her fall in love with her. Bristol’s words took on a different meaning now that they shared hearts. She smiled when Bristol started strumming her massively successful hit “Forever.” She wanted to sing with Bristol but stopped when she realized the words were different.

You’re here with me always and forever.

I can’t believe this is my life.

Will you marry me, Annie Foster,

And do me the honor of being my wife?
