  30. About Grace

“You will remain hidden until we reach our rooms. We will remain on the station until the repairs are complete on Styx’s ship.”

“Are you serious? I have to hide? For how long?” I peeked out from under the blanket to find him staring down into my face with those dark, dangerous eyes. My pussy went hot and tight, and my breathing hitched. God, he was lethal to my libido. He was big and dangerous and scary, and I wanted him.

“One or two days. Should anyone see you with me on this station, you will have a price on your head simply because you are mine.”

“What about on Rogue 5?” I asked.

His grin would have terrified me if he weren’t mine. “Here we must abide by Coalition law. On Rogue 5, we are the law. If anyone tries to harm you, they will be eliminated.”

“Eliminated? As in you would kill them?”

“Hunt. Torture. Kill. I protect what is mine.” He shrugged as if the threat were commonplace.

Holy shit. My entire body reacted with a visceral gut punch of lust that made me tremble. Who was I? Why did his vow make me want to tear his clothes off with a primal scream of power? What was happening to me?

I had no idea. All I knew was he woke me up, made me feel powerful and safe and protected in a way I never had been before. He was big and scary and fucking gorgeous.

A ninety-eight percent match? Hell, yeah. I didn’t care what I had to do now.

He was mine, and I was keeping him.

Cormac

My cock ached for her as I carried her through the transport station to one of Styx legion’s private rooms. The legion had purchased designated quarters on the station so we could install our own security, and so we always had somewhere to go during our frequent trade runs.

As an Enforcer, I rarely left Rogue 5. No doubt my presence on the station had already caused a stir. The last time I’d come to Transport Station Zenith had been to hunt down and kill a merchant who had put a price on my brother’s head. I terminated the idiot and all four assassins who had agreed to take the job.

No one threatened Styx legion and survived.

As I carried my new mate through the doorway into the safety of Styx quarters, I realized the ferocity of my duty to protect my legion paled in comparison to my need to protect her.
