Chapters (15)
While having breakfast at a Viena Capellanes she wondered if the person who had visited the clairvoyant was the man now sitting across from her, alternating sips of juice and latte as if attempting to create some specific effect on his taste buds or perhaps his health. In fact, she wasn’t wondering that, just projecting the message from the clairvoyant onto the first person she saw. And that person turned out to be a man who had looked at her several times, and not distractedly. His attention might have been due to the fact that she’d also noticed him, and both of them had been attempting to draw conclusions about those glances. Something more had to happen to bring the situation to some form of closure; for example, he could come over to her table and say, “I went to a fortune-teller and she told me that I was going to meet someone while I was having breakfast.” The man got to his feet. He’d left a few drops of juice in his glass. He paid at the counter and walked out onto Calle Fuencarral.
I’m seeing a short trip that will clarify many things. Let’s take a look. Call me: 415-295-5143
