- About the Author
A small grin appears as he glances at his drink and sets it down. “Do you?”
“I do.” I waggle my eyebrows. “You control the conversation. You make people crave your attention.” I sit back dramatically. “Which then makes everyone submit to you in some way.” I smile because I’m right and he knows it.
For example, kissing my fingers. If I don’t do what he wants, he stops and takes his attention away. It’s basic mind-fuck psychology. What I am surprised about is how much it turns me on that he’s that powerful. Maybe he’s right. I am a submissive… but I think I just get off on his control.
He leans forward. “What else?”
I squirm, becoming wet. “Well, you’re… attractive.”
My lips twitch as he full-on smiles, and I notice a tiny dimple on his right cheek. “And you know it.”
I motion with my hand at him. “Add that, with your intelligence and charisma, and it makes you deadly.”
“Deadly.” Our eyes lock.
“I like that.” Neither of us moves.
“Anything else, Ms. Stewart?”
“Yes. I’d like to see you in front of a jury. I watched a little of that Disciples’ member’s trial. Did you plan to have that witness wait to take the stand and basically perjure herself?”
He leans forward. The waitress comes over with the bread and what looks like roasted feta cheese.
“Thank you.” He smiles and waits for her to leave before he continues.
“First. You always keep them guessing,” he says, placing a piece of the roasted bread on my plate. “If they are confused, they’re weak, and that’s when I strike. After that… they trust you, and once you have trust, everyone sees it the right way.” He winks, then lounges back in his chair.
Winks.
My heart skips, and I try to remember what we’re talking about. Because all I want is to spread my legs and let him eat my slick, throbbing pussy. Wrap my hands in his hair, knowing that I have Jett Powers on his knees.
Instead, I say, “Which is your way.”
“Absolutely.” He smirks and stares at my breasts, causing my nipples to harden.
“At the end of the day, it’s always about winning, Raven.” He looks into my eyes as if he knows what I’m thinking.
“And, if you dare,” I say, watching his eyes turn almost black.
“Well, that’s what separates the average from the great.” He brings a piece of bread to my lips.
Holy fuck. My heart is racing. I lean forward to eat from his hand.
“Good girl. And, I’m in court Monday. You’ll go with me.”
“I’d like that.” I slowly chew. The flavors of the grilled bread make me groan, literally.
“I was waiting.” He laughs, scooping up some baked feta, smearing it on the toasted bread.
