- EPILOGUE
Edge looked at Skye, interest and anticipation in his sexy blue eyes.
Skye drained the last of her beer and set the mug down on the table. “Then let’s get the check and get out of here.”
Edge grinned, leaned over and kissed her. He was happy, and so was she. They were just as good a team as they had been before, only now they got to go home together every night, got to spend time talking about their day and making plans for the future.
“My Yukon’s parked out front,” Trace said.
Edge tossed some bills on the table. “We’re right behind you.” He turned to Skye. “You ready?”
She smiled. “I’m always ready.”
Edge gave her a long, hot glance. “That’s one of the things I love about you.”
Skye laughed. “Later,” she promised, trying not to think how good it would be when they got home and ended the day in bed. “In the meantime, we have work to do.”
Edge just nodded, his mood turning serious. He took her hand, and Skye followed him out the door of the Goat. They made a stop at the office to collect a few more weapons, then climbed into Trace’s big black SUV.
Whatever the situation, one thing was clear. Their relationship would never be boring.
Skye exchanged a look with Edge that said he knew exactly what she was thinking. Then they both settled back in their seats, turned their attention to the road ahead, and focused on their upcoming mission.
