Vic shook her head again, but this time it felt heavy and uncoordinated to the point she had to fight to keep it from lolling back. Only the sight of Sophia on her knees kept her upright.
“You do. I’ve grown more than fond of watching you command a room, or a set, or a conversation. I love stoking your anger and your arousal in equal measure. But tonight, seeing you relaxed and unguarded made me realise I’ve missed out on the pleasure of helping you shed the burdens.” Sophia gave a sexy little sigh. “I’ve seen you worked up, and pent up, controlling and controlled, empowered and wrecked. Tonight, I want to see you undone.”
She leaned so close Vic registered the warmth of her breath even amid all the other heat of her need.
“Actually, I don’t just want to see it,” Sophia corrected. “I want to cause you to come undone.”
And then she did.
Her mouth closed on Vic, and everything went silent. Not just the voices in the room, but also the ones inside Vic’s head. The whispers of insecurity, the echoes of shouts, even the subtle hum of trauma fell into blissful silence. For once there was no inner monologue, there was nothing but Sophia.
It wasn’t the first time her body had overtaken her brain, but never before had the transformation been so complete, and never had her heart stayed steady in the transfer.
All the best sensations surged through her as every sense heightened, but she hadn’t tipped into the usual oblivion Sophia inspired. She remained fully present as Sophia worked one hand up underneath her sweater. Could Sophia feel her rapid heartbeat? Did she know it beat for her? Not only for the wonders she was working with her mouth, but for everything she’d been tonight, for everything they could be together.
Sophia eased her other hand between the intersection of their bodies and slipped inside her. Vic lifted her hips, her body acting on some primal recognition of where this woman belonged, indeed where so much of her had already taken up residence. She sighed with her whole being as the visceral reactions cresting in her melded with the emotions she’d worked all night not to call into the light. Now there was nothing but light. More than a warm glow, or a raging blaze, this kind touched everything, revealed everything, illuminated everything, and still continued to spread.
