“Not me.” Isaac smiled. “You, Nory Noel, are now a part of horticultural history.”
Nory laughed and dashed away the tears that didn’t seem to want to stop falling.
Isaac smiled. “And now that we’ve sorted out your history, I wonder if you would agree to be very much a part of my future? Because ever since you stampeded into my life, I can’t imagine a future without you in it.”
“I think I can manage that,” she whispered.
Isaac bent and kissed away her tears, while the Winter Garden watched on in quiet majesty.
Epilogue
It was a small wedding, certainly by Robinwood Castle standards, but small did not mean quiet. Jackson and Lucas had become instant and firm friends with Camille and Guy’s children. They ran laughing and shouting around tables and between chairs inside the well-heated marquee, which stood in the lost garden—which were now lost only by name since being completely restored to their former Arts and Crafts glory earlier in the year.
In the weeks and months after the story about Heba’s paintings broke, Guy helped Isaac navigate the media interest and kept pressure on the legal teams to see the case through to its successful end. Guy had given up drinking, and most recently, had given up his flat to move back in with Camille and the children.
Jeremy and Katie’s baby, Audrey, was making herself heard, while Matilda took great delight in toddling toward her and declaring “Baby!” as though she herself was not just months older. Andrew and Seb watched on proudly and told anyone who asked, as well as everyone who didn’t, how clever their daughter was, and how she had amazed the health visitor at her last developmental checkup.
Charles didn’t leave Jenna’s side throughout the entire day, and she seemed perfectly happy to have him there. If he had been entranced by his wife before, he was even more awed now that she sported a rather fetching baby bump, which she frequently and lovingly ran her hands over. When the sonographer had announced that they were expecting a boy, they had looked at each other and said at the same time, “Tristan.”
Pippa proved once and for all that she really did “fucking love children” by organizing winter scavenger hunts for the underage guests and then proceeding to lead them on their quests. Thomas, who had warmed significantly to her since last year, named her the Pied Pippa of Robinwood, a nickname that would be used for years to come. Jackson and Lucas fell completely in love with her, although they were not nearly as smitten as Lord Abercrombie. Pippa had not only transformed the castle’s financial fortunes but also succeeded in transforming the famously commitment-shy marquis into a very committed boyfriend.
