The thought of facing him again filled me with dread, but my son needed me. I could not afford to falter or hesitate, not even for a second. I hadn’t been able to fight for his mother, or myself, but I would fight for him.

With everything I had.

“What is it?” Flick asked, his tone laced with unease. I glanced up from the page, squaring my shoulders as if it would grant me the courage needed for what was to come.

“It’s time.”

Though Orian will conclude the overarching plotline of Veiled City, I have plans in the works to create a secondary series, Veiled Kingdom, which will follow the lives of many of our most-loved side characters—the first being a closer look into the background of Zadok, Rosemary, and Flick.

The reason I have decided to separate the two is because the side characters’ stories, though crucial to their actions in Veiled City, will not add anything to the main plot. There will also be a variety of queer pairings, not only MM (e.g. MMM, MF, FF, MMX), and giving them their own series means ease for readers to pick which stories they wish to enjoy without missing anything plot-wise.

Thank you to everyone who had a hand in making Luca happen—especially Mozz, who sprinted with me daily, and gave me the shove that I needed to actually finish this; as well as Lydia, Lucia and Terra for being my extra eyes (you’re all amazing)!
