He grinned. ‘I need to kiss you.’ He pulled out of me and told me to move back up the bed. I sank into his amazing pillows and Jake leaned over, brushing my hair through his fingertips. Smiling, he reached down to give me a passionate kiss. I held on to him as he slid inside me again, his lips not leaving mine. Our tongues danced as our bodies clung to each other. We gasped breathlessly as heat continued to build, our skin starting to glisten as we moved together, faster and harder.

Jake’s lips left mine and he looked down at me. ‘You’re my girl, aren’t you?’

‘I’m yours,’ I confirmed as I cried out with pleasure, amazed that he could make me come all over again so quickly.

‘I love making you moan like that,’ Jake cried, shuddering on top of me, crying out my name this time, over and over like it was mantra. He then leaned down to give me the softest kiss before he rolled off me and onto his back.

Jake lifted his arm, so I collapsed onto his chest and he held me tightly against him. We had laid like this back in my hotel room and I had really missed it, his chest heaving with ragged breaths and my heart racing in time with his. His arms felt strong and safe, and my body lay contently against his, exhausted and sated.

After a couple of seconds of silence, I let out an involuntary giggle.

Jake wriggled to see my face. I looked up at him. ‘You okay, cutie?’

‘Just can’t quite believe what happened,’ I confessed.

Jake chuckled along with me. ‘I know what you mean. I thought I’d ruined any chance of us being together, to be honest. Having you here in my bed does feel a little bit like a dream.’ He brushed his lips against mine. ‘I love having you here.’

‘I love being here,’ I replied, snuggling in closer. ‘I still can’t believe you dedicated your book to me.’

‘It’s only going to be published because of you,’ Jake said as he stroked my hair. ‘You’re the perfect person to dedicate it to.’ He moved then, rolling onto his side. I did the same so we faced each other.

Jake wrapped his arms around me and I melted into him. He was not only good at sex but this man could snuggle really well. A perfect combination. I felt a little bit nervous about that, though. I knew already that it would be easy to fall for him and that was more than a little bit scary.

‘Are you okay?’ Jake seemed to notice I had gone a bit quiet.

‘My mind is just trying to catch up with my body, I think,’ I said as we looked at one another side by side.
