  50. Epilogue

Speaking of the divorce, the papers have been filed as of two weeks ago, but we have to wait a required ninety days before it can be finalized. It’s a waiting game until then, but at least it’s in progress. I keep asking her where she’s going once the house sale is final, but she won’t tell me. I’d imagine she’ll move in with her parents.

I’m on my way to Cash’s right now. We’re both busy tonight, so I can’t stay long, but I wanted to see him anyway. He doesn’t know this, but I booked a hotel room for us after graduation. We’re going out to a nice dinner out of town, which he does know about, but the hotel is a surprise I can’t wait to show him. He deserves it, and so much more. He’s worked his ass off this year. All four years, actually. And his drive to jump right into his grad program is admirable.

I’m going to miss having him in my class, but we’ll still be able to see each other on campus here and there. Plus, once I move out into my own place, he can come over any time he wants. I want him to move in, but that’s entirely too soon. I’d probably scare him off if I admitted that out loud.

Parking my car on his street, I send him a text letting him know I’m here. Not even three minutes later, he’s strolling over to my car and hopping in the passenger seat. He kisses me slow and passionately, and by the time he pulls away, my cock is hard and my head is dizzy.

“Hey, teach,” he greets with a smirk.

“Hi, Bambi. How’s your night?”

“Better now that I get to see you. How long can you stay?”

“Not too long, but I knew this week was busy for both of us, so I wanted to make sure to stop by when I could.”

Linking our hands together, he pulls our hands up to his face, pressing a kiss on the back of mine. “You’re giving a speech at graduation, right?”

“I sure am. How you feeling about your speech, Mr. Valedictorian?” I’m so fucking proud of him for getting valedictorian. He more than deserves it.

“Feeling okay. Finalizing the speech. Think it’s a solid one.”

My phone buzzes in my lap. Glancing down, the screen shows a text from Aida telling me she needs to talk to me as soon as I get home. That can’t be good.

“Do you have to go already?” he asks quietly.

“Soon. We have a meeting with the real estate agent tomorrow before my first class, and there’s shit I have to get situated before then.”

He nods his head in understanding. “Thank you for stopping by.”
