“Thank you for trusting me with this.” My voice is quiet, and had we been anywhere but in the middle of nowhere, he probably wouldn’t have heard me. My throat is clogged with emotion and my skin is buzzing. I don’t know what to say or what to do, so I down the rest of my beer, setting the empty bottle in the grass beside the blanket.

When I look back at Stone, he’s already watching me. Once again, like last time, his piercing brown eyes seem like they can look right through me, like he can see into my soul. The expression on his face is unreadable, but it heats my blood anyway. My pulse is hammering, and my body is shaking. I’ve never wanted anyone or anything as much as I want him.

I don’t understand this pull I have toward him, but it’s undeniable.

“C’mere,” he whispers, setting his own bottle down beside him on the grass.

Scooting closer and shifting my body to face him, I watch him… waiting for his next move, as my heart threatens to bust through my ribcage, and I swallow harshly against the golf ball sized lump in my throat.

Slowly, almost as if I’m watching this happen in slow-motion, his hand reaches over, wrapping around the back of my neck, pulling me closer to him. When our lips press together, a growl vibrates from his chest, and his tongue grazes my bottom lip.

From the moment my lips part and his tongue dips inside, licking mine, it’s like I’m waking up. The fog clears, the storm in my mind dissipates, and everything feels right.

He feels right.

This feels right.

My hands fist his shirt on either side of his stomach, pulling him over me as I lie back on the blanket. Resting my head on the pillow, his body blankets mine. I can feel his blazing body heat radiating off him in waves, heating my skin through our clothes.

Stone’s lips travel along my jaw, licking and sucking down to my neck, nipping my ear where he whispers, “I’m beginning to realize that, like this field, you’re special to me too.”

If I thought I couldn’t breathe before, it’s got nothing on the hammering of my pulse now. I don’t have any time to process what he said before his lips make their way across my throat, before showing my other side the same attention. His hands slide up my shirt—hot, calloused hands touching my bare stomach.

My dick is hard as… well, stone, and it’s straining against my sweats. Every time his lips press down on my neck, I feel it in my balls. I want all of him. I’m dying to explore his body, have him explore mine. I pray he doesn’t put a stop to this like the other times.
