“With Leora in particular, the author has created a woman of depth and complexity whose emotions and reactions often resonate with accuracy. Even those characters embodying the worst of human nature are compelling.”

—Library Journal

“An ebullient and vibrant new voice.”

—Jewish Week

“A tender and touching story of vanished worlds and recovered lives, where life is framed both in miniature and with an abiding faith in God’s grand, often random, design, and where love and loss coexist on both the written page and in the human heart.”

—Thane Rosenbaum, author of The Golems of Gotham
