“Yes, I would. I knew I loved you well before we left for our holiday in Monte Carlo. I wanted to tell you how I felt every second I was with you, but I was frightened of scaring you off. All I wanted was commitment from you, to know that when you went off around the world, that I was the only woman for you. So if you’d asked, I would have said yes, without hesitation.”
Byron put her arms around Amelia’s waist and pulled her closer. “You always were the only woman, from the first moment I saw you in your uncle’s shop. I was destined to love you.”
“You accept my apology?” Amelia said.
“Of course, I understand why you were upset.” Byron slipped her fingers into Amelia’s hair.
“Then don’t call me Miss Honey again.”
“Never, you are a Debrek now, and I promise you that we will find out the truth about your family, and I will give you the human wedding you missed out on. I will pledge myself to you, in front of our two families.”
“Kiss me, vampire. Make everything feel better,” Amelia said.
Byron leaned down and captured her lips in a passionate kiss. Her first taste of Amelia made her fangs erupt in her gums. She was already hungry but Amelia’s passion always made her more desperate. She pulled back and looked into Amelia’s eyes. “Can you feel what’s in my blood now?”
Amelia rewarded her with a coquettish smile, and said, “Hunger.” She then quickly led her by the hand into the small boathouse and Byron closed the door. When Byron turned around Amelia was standing dressed only in her lacy bra on top, and dropping her blouse by her side. “Are you hungry, vampire?”
Byron used her speed to take her in her arms and push her up against the wooden wall of the boathouse.
Amelia gasped. “That speed thing always makes me jump.”
“I like to keep you on your toes,” Byron replied, pulling off her jacket and throwing it to the ground.
Amelia caressed her temples, which Byron knew showed the veins of her vampire features, and looked at her with such want in her eyes. “I love it when I see you like this.”
“Why?” Byron asked.
Amelia ran her finger down her cheek and teasingly and bravely down her vampire fang, showing absolutely no fear. “Because you are holding nothing back from me,” Amelia said while Byron pulled her tie off and threaded it through her palms.
“You make me lose control, but only so much.” Byron raised her eyebrows and gave her a wicked smile.
Amelia’s heart started to beat with anticipation. Byron held up the tie, held taut between her hands, in question. As with everything in their personal and sexual relationship, it was about consent, and Amelia’s absolute trust in Byron.
