He returned to the lounge, handing his friend the ice water. Psycho scrambled out from under the blanket and accepted it. “Thanks man. If there’s anything I can do for you, anything, I’ll do it.”
But the only thing Patrick Normal could do for him was go to sleep. That way he could go upstairs and fuck his fist against the mattress. Try and clear up at least some of the stress wreaking his head. But Patty was a long way from sleep. He’d only just stopped grinding his teeth and his pupils were still the size of the moon. Willow shook his head. “I can’t believe you took two.”
Psycho gave him the boyish, ‘aw shucks’ look that had girls wetting themselves all over his Instagram. “Sorry?”
“Fuckin’ amateur hour.”
“I know.” Psycho sipped his water like a baby bird. “Wait, lemme get this straight—and sorry ‘cos I think you already told me—did you hook up with that DJ?”
Willow itched to throw something at his head. He’d already told Psycho five times. “Yes. I did.”
“And she came on to you?”
“Kind of.”
When her mate approached him in the green room, Willow was sure she was fucking with him. Just thinking about her saying ‘I heard you wanted to meet the goddess?’ made his stomach turn over. The fact that it had happened—that he’d actually hooked up with Eden Jade—made it no less surreal.
Psycho pressed the glass of ice water to his forehead. “How does someone ‘kind of’ hit on you?”
“I don’t know, okay? It just happened. Give me a break.”
Psycho’s brows shot up. “But you hooked up, right? You fucked?”
“Nah, I just fingered her.”
“Like at school?”
He smiled. “Yeah, that was kind of the point.”
“So, what? She pulled you off?”
“No, I only kissed her once. Mostly it was me touching her.”
Psycho frowned and Willow realised how that sounded. “I was okay with it. It was kinda what we agreed to. Plus, it was hot.”
“You’re a weirdo.”
“At least I can handle drugs. The next time Derek and I tell you not to take caps when you’re already fucked, how about you listen?”
Psycho rolled his eyes. “Yes, dad. Anyway, why are you so pissy? You touched up a hot DJ. That’s a win.”
His gut surged. “I guess.”
“Although, wait… You were back on the dance floor when I found you. So, you fucked up?”
“Nah, we decided to have a dance.”
Psycho’s nose scrunched. “Let me get this straight—you fingered her.”
“Yes.”
“Then you went for a rum and coke and a dance?”
“Yes.”
“Weren’t you like…?” Psycho held his forearm between his legs like a club.
“I tucked it back. It was fine.”
